" People who look good in glasses mustn't die. And you look wonderful in glasses. "
― , 境界の彼方 [Kyoukai no Kanata] (Beyond the Boundary, #1)
" That was the first time a younger girl who looked dashing in glasses had said something like that to me. Well, that phrasing suggests that this was the first time that someone who was a girl; my junior; and also good-looking in glasses had said something like that. That's a bit of a misleading turn of phrase. Allow me to correct myself. That was the first time I had heard something like that from a girl who looked good in glasses, or from a girl who was my junior, or from a girl who was a xenor. Heck, no girl has ever taken an interest in me, as far as I can remember. "
" Basically, I love glasses. "
" In situations like this - when you meet somebody who isn't an ordinary human - people like me have two choices. One: to exhibit plain and obvious hostility towards that person; or two: to feel a strong affinity for that person. I always choose the latter option. I never hesitate to thank them just for existing; it's almost like it's my sworn duty. "
" I don't think I'll ever understand what some people see in flat chests. Then again, I don't understand why big boobs are the number-one priority for some people, either. "
" Just what are you so scared of? It's okay. Every last bit of you is me. All of it used to be inside me. Including that sickening envy, the despair of never being able to become human, the sorrow of being abandoned, and the regret of having hurt someone. And the selfishness, doubt, hatred, resignation, pettiness, and self-preserving attitude. I won't let any of these emotions outside. They all belong to me. I'll be the one to carry it all! "
